This section of water has a lot of Bluegill and Yellow perch in addition to Largemouth bass. The tackle of the day was fishing rooster tail spinners on an ultralite rod. Casting close to the bank and into or around any brush piles or submerged trees and branches enticed bites on just about every other cast from sunfish. Throwing small swimbaits also lured Bass to bite.
All in all it was a fun day with quantity of fish caught being the word of the day over quality even though some of the bass and bluegill were of respectable size. The final fish count was fifty one, Bluegill being the most willing to snatch the rooster tail at twenty five, The number of Yellow perch caught was eighteen which most were small. The population of Yellow perch is so prolific that his lake is going to have a large amount of Yellow perch in the next few years. As far as Largemouth bass went, eight were caught, most were chunky and hit spinners and swimbaits aggressively.
